Winter Wedding Gowns

Winter weddings are not as popular as summer weddings or spring ones. Instead they are more romantic and magical, especially if there is snow.  If you are considering organizing a winter wedding it is recommended to start looking for a gown as soon as possible.

Even if you are having your wedding ceremony and reception indoor, the chilly weather is still an aspect that should be considered. You do not want to catch a cold on the most important day of your live.

Fabrics

As previously mentioned, during winter the weather is very cold. Hence, your winter wedding gown should be able to keep you warm and comfortable during the whole ceremony. Heavier fabrics such as crepe silk, velvet, satin, velour or taffeta are the most suitable ones. The wedding dress will look amazing and the bride won’t have to endure the keen frost.

Styles

Most winter wedding gowns are floor length in order to provide a full cover up for the bride. They are also very wide like fairy-tail dresses. Sleeves are another significant aspect to consider when picking out your outfit. For winter weddings the most common ones are ¾ sleeves, puffed sleeves and long sleeves. Although a sleeveless dress might seem more sensual and elegant for most people, long and delicate, lace sleeves are actually very sensual. Moreover, they protect the bride from cold and this is the most important.

However, if you prefer short sleeves or no sleeves at all, you can cover your hands using a pair of gorgeous satin gloves. They are very practical and also very feminine. Experts advise brides to purchase a winter wedding gown with lots of fine embellishments and embroidered details. If you do not want a white wedding gown, now is the time to experiment. Appropriate colors for such an occasion are pale pink, icy blue, ivory, silver or green. These colors are recommended especially if the wedding takes place on Christmas.

Accessories

The main accessory that all brides must take into account is something to cover their hands and shoulders when going outside. Warm cover ups are highly appreciated and very chic. A beautiful jacket or a fur trim are the most common ones. In case your wedding dress is colored, a white jacket will look stunning on you.

Capes are also an excellent choice. Highly elegant and refined these will keep you warm and give you a charming look.
