In the first place good to mention is who was Grace Kelly? A famous actress on the one hand, but mostly known for its statue: princess consort of Monaco. Princess Grace as everyone called her remain as a gracious woman in everyone’s mind, as an elegant and refined presence, and her wedding gown, even thought it is one specific for an old period- 1956- it is a source of inspiration for many brides in this modern world nowadays.

To speak about the wedding gown inspired by Grace Kelly one has to know first the original pattern. In other words, let’s see how Grace’s dress was like. The fabrics used or this dress were chiffon and lace. Starting with the top part, this gown type attracts with its embellishments, with its embroidery. With long sleeves, closed neckline, in the front part with some little buttons and at the end of this row a V opening, as the dress neckline is high and over the line. The waist is strongly and tightly accentuated, with sling 4 overlays, overlapped material. As for the bottom part, the skirt is a full one, bouffant, so it comes larger than the top part. Simple as design, with the train attached.

Considering this description many will adore this but at the same time it may be something too much, something too vintage after all. But you can adapt it and mostly, there are so many patterns that can be created having this leading point. Just preserve the key words to say so, the main or general lines of this dress and put value on some part that you want. For instance, one can recur to short sleeves or even middle length ones; the neckline can be more open, probably with the same buttons but without closing them. A deep V neckline and cut at the cleavage can work too. If you go on the more daring look the same aspect can be for your back side too.

Going further, the adapted idea of the wedding gown inspired from the Princess Grace targets the skirt, to be a little bit modified. It can have models at the extremities, some folds as well. Still, keep the tight part at the waist and with a ribbon at the back side. As for the veil or train they are optional.11

of course there is no need to explain who grace kelly was. she was beautiful and amazing in so many ways. although i believe the dress in the first picture is darn right ugly. may have been a hit in the 70′, but i prefer something more modern. respect grace!

Well, the dress looks nice but i don;t find chiffon and lace to be very comfortable, especially when you have to spend a whole summer day wearing such an outfit. I mean, this dress could at least have some cleavage, you’d literally melt on a hot summer day in one of those
