Victorian Wedding Gowns

Perhaps,every girl dreams at her wedding and every mature woman dreamed about it or even she had it.Undoubtedly,the most important thing in this perfect picture is the wedding gown.The brightest white,the longest veil covering the shoulders, a dress suitable for the most beautiful princess.Of course,don't forget about the white pigeons and the loving future husband.



But who ware it for the first time and why all the women want to begin their marriage in a white wedding gown? At first ,the wedding dress was inspired from egyptian culture and because the rainbow was the leitmotiv in this culture,colours like red,orange and yellow predominated. Because,in Greece white was the symbol of joy,the brides had their dresses all white.Until Middle Ages,this was the gowns which were covered women 's bodies.

In 1499,Anna of Britany,by introducing the idea of chastity before marriage and because white was associated with innocence,she imposed wearing white gown.Since that moment,until at the beginnig of the 19 th century,there was like a necessary vestment for the events which marked the start of the partnership between a woman and a man. In 1840,Queen Victoria of England ware a white wedding gown,which looked like a princess dress.The Victorian wedding gown is illustrated as a heavenly wearing,all white  with embroidery all over it,a a corset to  emphasize her wasp waist and a veil.

Queen Victoria preferred a very complicated design for it and maybe the richest ever she had as a dress.The fabric was from satin,embellished with orange flowers and a very expensive lace. The Victorian wedding gown became very popular,especially for the women from the higher social classes.At the beginning of the XX-th century, wedding dress designers were making white dress with long sleeves,a high collar,the veil was long from the top to the bottom.

It was a conservative model and it brought elegance to the ones who wore those.To create this kind of gown is necessary a lot of patience,because for the designers it is a real professional test to succeed in pleasing a woman's willing,especially when she wants to be at the  queen's standards.

Satin or silk,both are textiles used for this dress and,although,there are expensive and hard to cut and sew,statistics shows that  the Victorian wedding gown is the most popular .This might be the result of a lifetime when the little girl wants to be  princess. But when a bride wants to be at her wedding the most beautiful and she decided to appear in a Victorian dress,then she must consider that she needs a place adequate to her statute.That's why,the perfect wedding is completed if it takes place in a castle,the guests are keeping the party's theme and the groom is the pride future husband of a queen.
