Traditional white wedding gown

A wedding is all about traditions. Or at least most of them are so. I believe it is about fallowing some of general rules and not knowing what to add more. It is not like one is obliged to respect and include all the traditional moments at a wedding but if they are no then what else? And you know what it is said: a bride is not a bride without a white dress. So, how can one be against this?

First and the main traditional thing required is the white wedding gown. This fact comes form ancient periods, when people tend to believe as religion requires as well being untouched until the wedding day. And so, white is related to purity and chastity. And not just the bride but the groom either. Still don’t get it? When going at the church for the religious ceremony at the wedding the bride must be untouched, as a religious article of faith accomplished. And because she makes her appearance in God’s front this thing becomes as an unwritten rule to respect.

Nowadays these things have become obsolete. Modernism have turn its face to another ideas, hugs others thoughts and beliefs. It is said that free will is what should guide us in life and after all what counts is the supreme love. When getting married the grooms unify their destinies with no connection to the past ad no relevance about being or not untouched since then.

But apart from this, the required white dress has remained. It is a symbol for the bride after all, if not correlated to old beliefs. But a traditional white wedding gown is a fashionable one? The answer is yes and no. On the one hand, as I was saying the white dress is the symbol for the bride statue in that day, a dress that you wear it once in life time. It is fashionable according to what style it will have.

And partially no due to the fact that it is a commonly met item. In other words, it is about bringing something new. From here, nowadays wedding dresses styles are not purely white but cream, beige or butter color. Why not be different? Why fallow the rest of the brides’ style?

Furthermore, again tradition says that people should get married once in life time. And according to the Bible “what God unified people should not destroy”. Unfortunate not all the cases are with happy ending. And when a bride wants to get married for the second time it is considered that wearing a white dress again is blasphemy towards tradition, religion. Consequently, the traditional white wedding dress is being replaced by a simple soft and pale colored one.

All things considered, it seems that a bride has many ways: to wear strictly the white dress, to add something innovating as color or to get rid completely at this. What is your way?11
