Should a male bridesmaid wear a dress?
In time many of the traditions have suffered various modifications we may say. The sexual orientation for example no longer a taboo subject and mostly, it is accepted. This is why various concerns appear. At a wedding the bride chooses from her best friends ever the ones to be her maids of honors. And if it happens to be a male, but in fact a gay person? Should a male bridesmaid wear a dress?

First of all, it is not only this, but the desire of the bride to have near her in this special day the closest persons in her life. No matter if it is a male or a female, so that like I said before, tradition becomes a transformed and modern belief. But this does not mean that you have to change the entire plan about your bridesmaids. It is just a unique and apart situation. How would a male bridesmaid be dressed?
We have two situations, but both of them after all with the same result: wearing white. This way the male you have chosen acts its role of real bridesmaid but there is no case to impose any dress or something more feminine. And to be on man’s side white was for a while the groom’s outfit. There is nothing strange for a man to wear white, this is my point.

Should a male bridesmaid wear a dress sounds ridiculous even for a gay person. Like I said there are two categories. For a straight man the role of being the maid of honor is to wear white and there is nothing weird in this. For a gay person the same situation it is plus some details probably to make the whole appearance more feminine. Like a ribbon instead a butterfly bow.
As a conclusion, with no intention to say that we must exclude totally a man from this bridal experience or a gay person from the female part if this is its option, still, a maid of honor is a woman, one that has to wear a dress. What is the point after all to try to keep and include this tradition to a wedding?11
