Shamrock Bridesmaid Dresses

Traditions are part of our life, part of our habits. Even though many of the old values have lost their meaning it is still preserved a sense of respect for this. Taking the example of a wedding planning almost everything is related to old beliefs and tradition. But a modern bride and groom for sure that will skip some of them, but others are even more a pleasure to include them. For example, the bridesmaids’ presence is something that a bride will not leave it away, as it is related to her closest friends and the magnificent appearance of the girls dressed all alike.

And if it is to respect this tradition with the maids of honors probably not the whole part of this is included. By this I mean that according to tradition they must be dressed all alike and mostly, in white dresses. In ancient times this was the method of protecting the bride form the bad spirits, by deluding them. But is this not a shadow for the bride’s appearance? White is her and only her main color and so, to make this remarkable the bridesmaids should come in a total contrast. How about shamrock bridesmaid dresses?

First of all, the shamrock is a three leaves clover, the symbol for Ireland. What has this to do with the bridesmaid dresses? They are green, as the plant itself, a vivid and intense nuance. On the one hand, if it is to have an Ireland wedding it may be considered this as pat of the tradition as well. You use this color as a way of reminding about the national symbol. If not, it is just a fancy color and appearance for the maids of honors in such dresses types.

Besides this, in time many old beliefs have created an entire story about the shamrock. It is and was considered to be the symbol for luck; as well it is considered to be a sort of cure against some spells. Correlated with the fact that the bride was the one hunted by bad spirits this is what could be a method of keeping them away.

Leaving behind such beliefs, shamrock bridesmaid dresses can be just representative for your wedding concept or theme. For example, from the season perspective, this green nuance can be the symbol for spring time, when nature comes to life again. Or, coming into a mixture with many others colors it can be the representative part for summer.

Last, but not least, green inspires energy, delicacy and it can e suitable for any type of bridesmaid. I mean, in many cases you think to choose a color representative for each and every maid of honor like pink for a little girl and a darker nuance for a mature grown up one. But green can be from this point of view appropriate for any of them: a youthful attitude and spirit for a junior one with an intense nuance, at the opposite a flat nuance for a mature one.

It is a very interesting idea the one according to which the bridesmaid were supposed to get dressed in the same white dresses for protecting the bride even if it is considered rather ancient these days…what I consider to be important is the fact that bridesmaid still play an important role in the wedding and especially for the bride and this makes their dresses even more important…I can say that before seeing these pictures I have never thought that such green dresses might make bridesmaids look so good but it looks like I was wrong…they really look great and if the color is consistent with the theme of the wedding why not choose green?
