Non Matching Bridesmaid Dress

It took us a while to start making some changes and leave behind some traditions. And even so the modifications are only a few. Still, modernism has to be as well part of our life and evolve day by day not stay close and fixed to the old beliefs. This is especially representative for the weddings and it is more about the bridesmaids’ presence. According to the tradition they have to be dressed all alike, to match with the wedding theme. This is the common image we are used to but how about non matching bridesmaid dresses?

To start with, the concept about non matching any more the dresses for the maids of honors refers to the fact of not having thematic gowns, not imposing them what to choose but letting them decide, or about creating a modernism view and recur to strange and original combination.

Why not having any more thematic dresses? Because you pay more for them, because you have to make them on special order. Then it is about having no interest about the bridesmaids’ opinions and likes towards the style you choose. And moreover, besides them wearing once the dresses have no other purpose. It is a waste of everything after all. Choosing casual dresses will allow the bridesmaids to personalize the dresses and everything above is about reverse order.

Going further, with the decision taken about not forcing let’s say the maids of honors to choose a specific dress style and type both parts can be conciliated. You as a bride still gain that magnificent view about them in elegant gowns and they feel more comfortable and pleased with what they choose.

Non matching bridesmaid dresses is not just about this, but a free spirit and after all your choice to represent at the wedding the image of a bunch of girls dressed in different styles. You can keep a color base for example a nuance that is totally part of you wedding look, but with not the same cut of the dress for all of them.

Apart from this, it is difficult to find a dress pattern to match with all your bridesmaids look. By this I mean that each and ever one has its good and bad parts, different body measurements.  And a specific cut of the dress may be in one’s favor, but not the best choice for another one. And you should also take into consideration the fact that you may have different ages: a junior maid of honor, grown ups, mature ones, maybe one that is pregnant and so on. For each and every one you need proper style.

All things considered, not only that you ease your work but you give the bridesmaids the chance to contribute to this with non matching the dresses.

Non-matching bridesmaid dresses can seem like a strange idea…and it is also kind of risky if the bridesmaids choose their dresses totally randomly because they might not look good together at all…but this can also be a very interesting idea and it can make the wedding even more especial by expressing the uniqueness of every person and the way in which a total unity can result even when totally different elements are combined in order to obtain it….as long as the dresses are all nice and they are chosen according to the theme of the wadding I must say that I would go for non-matching bridesmaid dresses if this meant that the bridesmaid would have a better chance of expressing themselves this way…I like how you have presented this concept in your article…very interesting ideas!
