When choosing your wedding gown style it is very important to take in account several details, such as: your body type, your preferences, where the wedding ceremony is taking place and if you feel comfortable in it. When you think about the wedding gown of your dreams, try not to limit yourself to only one style. It is better that you go at the stores with a close friend, which you can trust to be honest, and try on as many styles as you can in order to convince yourself what style suites you best.
Of course, there are some general rules regarding every wedding gown styles, but there are brides who are so determined to wear a certain design that they dreamed of since they were little girls, that there is a possibility that you might not look so good in that particular dress. Therefore, try to be honest with yourself.
The mermaid wedding gown style is definitely not for everyone. It is quite a difficult dress to pull off because it is fitted on your body and it accentuates every curve of your body until the knee area. Basically, it is fitted on your bust, waist, hips and thighs. There are already three problematic body parts: waist, hips and thighs. The best and indicated silhouette to pull this kind of a style off is the hourglass silhouette. These are the very lucky women that have a well shaped bust, a tiny waist and well proportioned hips and thighs. Also, a woman who is slender could wear a mermaid wedding dress. However, women who are fuller and women who are more than slender, thin should try to avoid this kind of a dress. Women with these body shapes are going to have to either hide certain parts or create illusions of volume.
You can choose mermaid gowns that are made out of lace, which are very elegant or out of organza, material that will offer it a more structured line. Also, you can choose from different necklines, strapless or with long or cap sleeves and different skirts (ones that flair out above the knee or under the knee).
Organza is indeed a material that will offer you a more structured line, those dresses you presented above are just great. I believe veraweddingdresses.com is the official internet site, isn’t it? I would like to know if they have regional online stores. Is it possible? I’m from England.

I have always wondered how thin you should be to wear a mermaid wedding dress? Thin enough to be a wonderful presence and to eclipse your guests. As you said, it is quite a difficult dress to pull off because it is fitted on your body and it accentuates every curve of your body until the knee area. You can choose mermaid gowns that are made out of lace, which are very elegant or out of organza, material that will offer it a more structured line. But I would rather say that organza is a too pretentious material for such a dress.
