Long Sleeve Wedding Gown

The wedding gown is the dress which makes you stand out and be admired at your wedding. No matter what style or color it is ,you should choose the one which flatters you the most. A lot of brides make the mistake of choosing a style of a dress just because it’s a trend. Some chose it because their family told them so . I think that one should really stop, take a deep breath, clear your mind and tell everyone to mind their own business. You are the only one who should be satisfied when looking in the mirror. If you are happy then people will see that and feel exactly how you feel.

With this in mind let me tell you about a not so popular kind of wedding dress – the long sleeved wedding dress.  It was a popular kind of dress worn in early 1900. Sleeves can make your hands look longer and can hide some defects that you might have.  Here are some styles of sleeves you could look for when buying a long sleeved dress.

One style of long sleeve comes from Irish culture. The bell shaped sleeve flares out at the wrist and extends beyond the fingers. With her hands up the bride will look like an ethereal being. This style of sleeves is especially good for hiding chubby arms.

If you’re planning on going with a more Shakespearean kind on dress then you should consider two types of sleeve styles. The Juliet sleeve has a puff shoulder and it’s tight on the arm. The balloon sleeve is also tight on the arm, but from the elbow to the wrist. The upper arm and the shoulder are full.

For some shorter sleeves you should look for the cap sleeve or the short sleeve.  If you have toned upper-arms, then you should definitely show them at your wedding with a cap sleeve kind of dress. The short style extends to the middle of the upper arm and it’s great to cover up a not  so slender upper-arm.

If you want a type of sleeve that is long but doesn’t quite extend to the wrist then a three-quarter length should be perfect.  This kind of sleeve makes the arms look considerably longer and allows the bride to wear a bracelet.

No matter what kind of dress you choose remember the sleeve aren’t always supposed to be made from the same fabric. Play with different style to find the right one for you.
