Islamic Couture Wedding Gown




Many fashion designers, especially the ones who have chosen to create wedding gowns, get their sources of inspiration from a variety of traditional outfits, and even the famous ones like to ‘play’ with ideas that are delivered by styles included in the traditional wedding attires in many corners of the world. One of such designers, Riccardo Tisci, working for Givency Couture has released in the Spring of 2009 a collection inspired from Islamic couture with creations that stun due to the way the specific designer managed to introduce details in a piece of fabric which ended up being very elegant carrying the perfume of mystery and femininity.




Islamic couture wedding gowns are designed in many styles, most of them having features that an Islamic bride can easily recognize while browsing for her wedding gown. The designs of the Islamic wedding gowns go with the type of Islamic wedding that a bride intends of celebrating. A renowned master of couture who inserted many elements and characteristics of the Islamic trends is Hijab. The creations of this designer are famous, draping fabrics in a swirl of pleats wrap the shape of the models and the way these gowns are created leads us to the mystical appearances of Arabic women who do not unveil their beauty unless they face the person belonging to her intimacy.

Many different ways could be approached in the design of Islamic wedding gowns; one of these reveals the dream from the childhood period when princesses displayed their fantastic images to the prince of their life. The models dressed in designs that have Islamic couture reveal images of brides very confident on themselves, threading on the catwalk without the restrictions imposed by a sophisticated look or an elaborately designed dress. These are images that float with their aspect over the reality of the fashion parade reflecting them as delicate and willowy silhouette that vanish long before we even think of touching them.



It is this ethereality of a fabric delicately included in the aspect of an Islamic wedding gown that casts the model into the realms of surrealism making us want to be part of their world once we are wrapped in this magical mantle.
