Many of us would probably say no to a dress a made out of eco-friendly materials thinking that our style might be compromised, but that is not necessarily true, there are a lot of beautiful wedding gown that that bring the best of the two worlds together.

We should be aware of the problems that our world faces and try to opt for a more eco-friendly wedding or “green wedding” and help protect the world that we live in from the further destruction. A hippie inspired dress would allow us this because of the materials from which they are made of can be considered eco-friendly (organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, linen or silk). These dresses can also be considered more comfortable because they will allow your skin to breath.
When choosing the color, pale colors are usually the ones associated with the ’70 dresses. The gown are mostly hand made, according a great amount of attention to the details and to the colored flowered embroidery that decorates the dress. The wedding gowns that dominated in that period were long flowing gowns with an empire-waist and bohemian details which was fairly loose on the body, some also had billowing long sleeves.
I would advise you to be natural, avoid the accessories, although some feathered earrings or a wooden bracelet would accompany the outfit perfectly and maybe you can also wear a necklace, but don’t exaggerate with extravagant jewelry instead choose something simple and delicate.
And if you really want to make it unique and memorable organize an outdoor wedding and get married without wearing any shoes, it will give the whole wedding a more ’70 feeling or at least choose to wear some leather sandals which would match perfectly with the “hippie gown”. Consider wearing your hair as natural as possible too, maybe braid it or maybe consider about wearing some flowers in your hair the more natural everything is the more beautiful everything will turn out.
There are a lot of vintage shops where you will be able to find the perfect dress that will be as unique as you, but some bridal stores have hippie inspired dresses too. If you’re in a hurry and you want to save money you should probably buy a off the rack dress, but it might not fit as well as a custom made one.

Another possibility is to customize an existing dress, altering it to be everything that you dreamt it would be like, but if you don’t find anything that you like they can also make you a custom made dress, taking approximately 4 months to finish it, depending on the store. E-Bay is also a possibility that you should consider, you might find the perfect dress there, they even sell new dresses or ones that look brand new and the prices there are a lot lower than the ones in the bridal store.
