Gorgeous dark blue bridesmaid gowns

Not blue, but not black too. Well, I won’t put you to read a riddle and I’ll tell you what it’s all about. Probably, if you were at some weddings till now, or if you visited some weddings stores with bridesmaid dresses, probably you noticed that dark blue bridesmaid gowns are totally in trend. Not blue, but not black too- well, it’s about dark blue. In my opinion, Kate Winslet and Freida Pinto were the trendsetters in what regards wearing a dark blue outfit at special events. These actresses worn shades of blue (and Kate also worn shades of grey) at Oscar prizes. Since then, women started to be more interested about these new fashion trends. Probably you’ll say: “It’s quite a serious color for weddings! It’s also very formal!”. Dark blue may be a serious color, but if you know how to wear it, you’ll look extraordinary! And there is a huge advantage of this shade: all women (no matter the skin or the hair color) look divine wearing it! You can get inspired from the pictures I’ve posted for this article and start to change your opinion about dark blue bridesmaid gowns.

Brunette, chocolate, blond and also redhead women look totally gorgeous wearing this color. Not in vain I’ve posted these pictures. You can get inspired from them in what regards the dress design, but also for what hair-do or make-up to opt for. There are also many advantages of wearing this shade:

-Dark blue dresses successfully can be worn at weddings planned in summer time, because you’ll look very refreshing and energizing. If the bride will wear a white or Ivory dress, you’ll create a fantastic contrast. For weddings planned in autumn or winter time, dark blue is also a suitable shade for your gown. I already imagine a beautiful woman wearing a dark blue dress surrounded by a carpet of orange leafs.

-Why would I opt for a dark blue bridesmaid gown? Well, is very easy to juggle with this color and create a fantastic look. For refined classy women, it’s ideal to assort the color dress with the shoes, for not creating hard contrast. They still can add a drop of spark wearing silvery or gold jeweleries and we already talk about a luxurious exquisite aspect. For playful women, there are lots of other manners to combine this color in order to obtain a formidable look. They can juggle with shoes color, with make-up and lipstick color, with accessories and even with the purse. If you’d like to wear a dark blue dress for ceremony (like the dress from the second picture, but I recommend you to choose other fabric, because satin is too elegant to be worn in the middle of the day), you can contrast it with a pair of beige or Ivory shoes.

During wedding party, you can opt for silvery or golden t-strap-shoes and you will be truly brilliant. Talking about make-up, some women choose top opt for nude lipstick, while others opt for a pale orange lipstick. Regarding the eyes-make up, chocolate kohl, grey and even dark blue are great options. Still, I saw lots of women combining dark blue with purple and the result was totally blowing mind. In my opinion, this type of make-up is suitable for blond women.

How would you combine this shade? Are you a classy lady or you are more a playful one?

I have to help my best friend choose the bridesmaid gowns for her wedding, as I am the only person who knows her and her friends the best. So, difficult task, but so enjoyable. After we decided upon the color, and of course we stopped at dark blue, as it fits every of our friends, we had to decide upon the type of dress. This is more difficult, as she wants the dresses to fit every personality of her bridesmaid and at the same time be unique. Maybe I’m mistaken, but the short dress here seems to fit the requirements. With a scarf for one of the bridesmaids and a fine embroidery along the V, this dress can be adjustable for every bridesmaid. And I want to say you have a nice site here.
