Number one: avoid the straight patterns, the too tight types of dresses but not choosing the largest ones- keep proportions. For example, better to have the skirt of large style and a corset for the top part. The A-line dress type can be your choice in this way, as it does not fallow the body lines from top to bottom, but it comes in a larger line, in the A shape- it hides the hips, it lets the top part be in the front line.

Number two: the waist line should not be strongly accentuated unless it does not have a position that is in your advantage. The common dresses types have the waist at the middle part but with a tight top, wide shoulders and larger skirt it is not the best combination. Choose either the empire waist, either no accent at this at all, just a long flowy dress. With the empire waist the line is under the breasts so it comes as attention catcher the bust, of a generous and delightful appearance.
Number tree: keep it as simple as possible. A dress with a bustled style, with folds or ruffled is not in your advantage to wear. Flowy or with some pick up style in various parts, long and with a train added will create the impression of a slimmer silhouette, as it is an extended dress.
