Corset wedding gown
Let’s talk a bit about old-fashion! The corsage has already gone through all history, through many styles, from Renaissance until today. Nowadays it is used more like a vintage piece, used increasingly less. However, the bodice has a very controversial history! Let me tell you! Role of the bodice, from the early discoveries, was that to adjust the body, to squeeze it to get the perfect form. It became part of the underwear with fundamental role of fashion and it was adjusted to all the different models and ideals of beauty.
There are many kinds of corsets, most have the same role, to shrink the waistline and create dramatic curves, to exaggerate the bust and hips, but there are some exceptions too. There were hollow corsets, under-bust corsets or more balances, some even up to knees, but also mini-corsets built like belt cords. All are based on something in common: rigid materials, metal fittings, adjustable locking systems. The best corsets are still made from materials that allow some flexibility and which are reinforced with ribs.
History of corsets! Like I said, the corsets are remarked since the ancient from various statues made by Minoan and Greek civilizations. Then we find more evidence during the Renaissance, inspired by medieval armor, the role to protect the torso and to flat the breasts.
Royal Court of Spain has great influence on the Tudor style. Queen Elizabeth I of England gave the name “Elizabethan style” inspired by the Tudor style, less rigorous than this.

In the seventeenth century there was a division of European fashion. Spanish influence led to the dresses ended up on the neck, from silk and corsets worn over the dress. Habsburg influence has led the fashion to vaporous materials, tight corsets and generous cleavages.
“Hourglass” waist was noticed in the eighteenth century and the corsets began to be decorated with many ribbons and precious accessories. After the French Revolution, the corset was worn at the breast like an uncomfortable bra. Nineteenth century and the Victorian style restored in fashion the classic corsets, wide skirt, tops in the neck, prom dresses. I think you all saw the movie “Gone with the Wind” and have admired the fantastic costumes of main characters.

With the invention of bras around the 1930s, the corset disappeared least in fashion, but in the ’50s became important accessory in show and cabaret outfits.Today, the corset is a symbol of female’s coquetry, but is not as worn in the past. Enough with bodice history, all this introduction was done to think better when choosing a wedding dress. Highlight your waist choosing a corset wedding gown.
A corset wedding gown for sure will make you be a goddess! Don’t forget about the attitude which is also very important!11
