Some brides prefer to have nieces and cousins around them on the most important day of their lives and choose to fit them in the role of junior bridesmaids. It is such a lovely way of keeping your wedding ceremony, having among your bridesmaids, a junior! Not only they’re little and pretty but also look like sweet princesses, future mature and of an enchanting beauty. On the other hand, the junior bridesmaid dresses are such a pleasure to look for, only when thinking about the size of the dresses and the delicate details that can be seen on such gowns, for junior bridesmaid dresses are miniatures of the elegant bride’s and bridesmaid’s wedding gowns.

For the junior bridesmaid dress you can pick the same style as the bride’s wedding gown or just an alternative to it, however a dress style that reflects the age of the junior. Moreover should take into consideration the color or at least a combination of similar bride’s gown color while choosing the junior’s dress. Although it might seem a not so important aspect of the wedding preparations, the ceremony might be a failure from this point of view if the look of the junior bridesmaid is not according to the other bridesmaids and the main settings.

One starting point is the age, for better choosing the neckline dress and therefore the type of dress. An ordinary mistake that it’s made when choosing a junior’s gown is by picking a conventional floor-length dress, which is regarded more like for a grown-up than for a child of about fourteen years old. That’s why is preferable a two piece costume and by any matter of means not a strapless gown. A nice choice would also be the long or three quarter sleeves, cap or bell sleeves along with the v-neck, square and heart-shaped styles.

Usually, junior bridesmaids are from 8 to fourteen years old and have no other big responsibility than attending the wedding ceremony and be part of the wedding suite. And of course helping out with cleaning up and attending the ceremony rehearsals, seating guests. In the case where the junior bridesmaid is the bride’s daughter, then she has to stand next to her mother in front of the altar and read a poem, other way, singing or dancing or playing an instrument during the wedding ceremony. A junior bridesmaid can, rarely, be also a flower girl, a girl who is between four and eight years old and who walks in front of the bride and spreads flower petals or who carries a bouquet of flowers. But this happens in some cases only, when the junior bridesmaid is not too old for this role.
