Bridesmaid Dress Colors

The bridesmaid dress color is not just a color, but an opportunity, a chance to look stunning and to show your beauty and elegance, an occasion to raise admiration and complicity. And of course, the color is one of the major problems when choosing the bridesmaid gown, after deciding upon the style and model and sometimes can influence on the type of gown. Some gowns will look fantastically with a knee length on white with blue flowers attached, but not on green or red. The color of the bridesmaid gown differs from style and model to size or fabric. For a better symphony of colors, the dresses can be easily matched with the bridesmaid flower bouquet.

The bridesmaid dress colors must come in combinations or influences of shades from the bride’s wedding gown, for a better ambiance and a visible pleasant atmosphere or of complementary colors or can be totally different from the bride’s gown. It is a discussion between “girls” and a continuous debate around it. ‘Cause for a perfect wedding, the wedding’s ladies must have perfect gowns. Usually, the most preferred colors for bridesmaid dresses are:

Black, which is the option mostly found for bridesmaid gowns, for it is elegant and sexy and goes well for all kind of body shapes and sizes. Although some may not choose this non-color just because it brings too much to mourning and sufferance.

Like black, red can also suit to more elegant weddings, but in the same time can make a good team in combination with white and, therefore, become a bound of symbols and faiths, for red is also used when referring to love and white to purity and so it can give a nuance of strong feelings. Also, red gowns look better in a less bright tone and more on women with olive or brown skin.

Dressed in pink gowns, your bridesmaids will look extremely girlish and feminine, with an accentuated air of purity and innocence and it is recommended for spring or summer outdoor weddings.

Purple is an alternative to red and a harder color to work with because it disadvantages the less slim bridesmaids, so that it can, sometimes, be a bad choice. Instead, a purple bridesmaid gown it will look pretty on yellow skinned bridesmaid.

The pastels, such as pale blue, pale green, pale yellow or lavender fit very well at springtime weddings, but do not look very well on older bridesmaids. Orange is an always on trend color, more exotic and daring and suits very well women with dark skin in a late summer or early autumn wedding.

You won’t believe when I’ll tell you that the first place on trends for bridesmaid gowns in 2010 it’s occupied by the bridesmaid gowns rentals. A cheaper way of affording a fabulous gown with saving for accessories. The black bridesmaid dress  continues to be in trend and to please the more or less young bridesmaids. Next in top are the long gowns, that come in light fabrics with models such as the Grecian wedding gown. The one-shouldered dresses are also in trend, along with the ruffled dresses, in feminine and romantic cuttings, that have the power of emphasizing the best worked body parts of the bridesmaid. The last but not least trend for this year is the drapped dress, one of the most late popular style that pleases all body shapes and can touch the maximum of better looking at a wedding reception.

  1. My wedding is months later. Going downtown and hunting bridesmaids dresses in every shop and boutique makes me bored and tired. What’s worse, expensive bridesmaids dresses are everywhere.
